Kaizer Chiefs produced an impressive attacking display on Wednesday evening as they secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Lerumo United in a fitness/friendly match played at Soccer City, FNB Stadium.
The match provided Kaizer Chiefs with an important opportunity to give players valuable minutes, build match fitness and continue preparations ahead of their upcoming competitive fixtures. Despite the friendly nature of the encounter, Amakhosi showed plenty of intensity and attacking quality throughout the game.
Mfundo Vilakazi opened the scoring for Kaizer Chiefs, setting the tone for a dominant performance. The young attacker continued to make his presence felt as Chiefs looked dangerous in the final third.
Langelihle Phili was also among the scorers, adding another goal as the Soweto giants extended their advantage. Kaizer Chiefs continued to control proceedings and created several opportunities against a Lerumo United side that struggled to contain their attacking movement.
Mduduzi Shabalala was the standout performer on the scoresheet, finding the back of the net twice to complete a brace. His goals further highlighted the attacking depth available to the Chiefs technical team.
Lebohang Maboe also got his name on the scoresheet as Amakhosi eventually completed a comprehensive 5-0 triumph.
