Kaizer Chiefs have completed the signing of South African international winger Ellias Mokwana in what could be one of the club’s exciting additions ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Amakhosi have reportedly secured the player’s signature after his representatives presented an opportunity to join the Soweto giants. Following discussions and the opportunity to return to South African football, Mokwana did not hesitate to give the move the green light.
The 26-year-old winger was impressed by the project presented to him and expressed his willingness to become part of the Kaizer Chiefs family. An agreement was reached, with the player putting pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Glamour Boys.
This is a significant development for Kaizer Chiefs as the club continues its efforts to strengthen its squad with quality players who can make an immediate impact.
Mokwana brings valuable experience, attacking ability, pace and creativity. His ability to operate on either flank, take on defenders and create opportunities could provide the Chiefs technical team with another important attacking option.
For the Amakhosi supporters, this is the kind of news that generates excitement and anticipation. The club has been working towards building a competitive squad capable of challenging for major honours, and adding a player of Mokwana’s quality would represent another step in that direction.
“Honestly, I’m very happy to be here at Kaizer Chiefs. It’s a big club with a massive history, and everyone knows what Amakhosi means to the supporters. When you get an opportunity to play for a club like this, you have to appreciate it and give everything you have.
I know the supporters have been waiting for good results, and I understand the pressure that comes with playing for a big team like Kaizer Chiefs. But for me, pressure is part of football. I’m here because I want to compete, improve myself and help the team achieve great things.
What I can promise the fans is that they will always see me giving 100 percent whenever I wear this jersey. I want to score goals, create opportunities, help my teammates and, most importantly, deliver results.
I know the expectations are high, but I’m ready for the challenge. To all the Amakhosi supporters, keep believing in us and continue supporting the team. I promise you, I’ll do everything possible to make you proud. I’m here to work, and hopefully, together, we can bring trophies back to Naturena.”
