Fernando Da Cruz Ready to Unleash Stronger Kaizer Chiefs Squad

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz is continuing to shape his squad ahead of a demanding 2026/27 campaign, with the French tactician confident that the new additions can give Amakhosi a stronger and more competitive line-up.

Da Cruz has already overseen several changes to the squad, with Chiefs bringing in new faces while also securing the permanent signing of Khanyisa Mayo. The club has also added players such as Thabo Moloisane, Renaldo Leaner, Adolf Mtasingwa and Langelihle Phili as part of the squad rebuild.

The coach has made it clear that he wants different profiles in the team, particularly in attacking areas, so that Chiefs can become less predictable and have more options when facing different opponents.

With the new signings settling into the squad, Da Cruz now has more options to work with and is expected to build a line-up capable of competing on multiple fronts.

The early signs have already been encouraging, with Chiefs players praising the new coach’s approach and the way the new arrivals have adapted to the team.

For Amakhosi supporters, the message is clear: Da Cruz is building a squad with greater depth, more competition for places and different attacking options — and the new-look Kaizer Chiefs could be a very different team as the season progresses.
