Orlando Pirates defender is heading to Pyramids

Nkosinathi Sibisi is reportedly edging closer to a move away from Orlando Pirates after Pyramids FC submitted an offer for the experienced defender. The Egyptian club, coached by South African tactician Rulani Mokwena, has identified Sibisi as a player who could strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

Sources indicate that Orlando Pirates management have accepted the offer from Pyramids FC, opening the door for the defender to begin discussions over a potential move to Egypt. While the agreement between the clubs has reportedly been reached, the transfer is not yet completely finalised, as Sibisi and his representatives still need to conclude personal terms and other contractual conditions.

The 30-year-old defender has been an important figure in the Orlando Pirates squad, bringing experience, physical strength and leadership to the backline. His possible departure would represent a significant change for the Buccaneers, particularly because of the role he has played within the squad.

Mokwena is understood to be keen on bringing Sibisi to Egypt as he continues building his Pyramids FC squad. The coach knows the South African football environment well, and a move for a player with Sibisi’s experience could provide additional depth and stability to his defensive department.

Sibisi and his camp are now believed to be carefully discussing the terms of the proposed contract with Pyramids FC. These discussions will determine the length of the contract, salary package and other conditions before the transfer can officially be completed.

If the remaining negotiations are successfully concluded, Sibisi will leave Orlando Pirates and begin a new chapter of his career in the Egyptian Premier League. The move would also give him the opportunity to work under a familiar South African coach in Mokwena while testing himself in a different football environment.

For Orlando Pirates supporters, the potential departure of Sibisi will certainly attract attention. However, with the club having reportedly accepted Pyramids FC’s offer, the next stage now rests largely with the player and his representatives.

Fans will be watching closely for an official announcement as negotiations continue, with Sibisi potentially on his way to Egypt to join Mokwena’s Pyramids FC.
