Kaizer Chiefs continued their preparations with an impressive 5–0 victory over Soweto Real Thunders FC in a friendly match played earlier today at Naturena Village.
The match provided the technical team with an opportunity to assess the squad, build match fitness and give several players valuable minutes ahead of the upcoming competitive fixtures. Amakhosi produced a dominant performance from the opening stages, controlling the game and creating numerous opportunities in the final third.
Mfundo Vilakazi was one of the standout performers, finding the back of the net twice to complete a well-deserved brace. Duba also enjoyed an excellent outing, scoring two goals as Chiefs maintained their attacking momentum throughout the match.
Ndlovu completed the scoring with the fifth goal, putting the finishing touch on a convincing team performance. The five goals reflected Chiefs’ dominance and their ability to convert their chances in front of goal.
There was also a notable return to action for Rushwin Dortley, who featured for 20 minutes during the friendly. His appearance will be welcomed as he continues to build his match fitness and work his way back into full competitive rhythm.
While friendly matches are primarily about preparation and assessment, the 5–0 result will nevertheless provide confidence within the Chiefs camp. The technical team will now look closely at the performances and fitness levels of the players as preparations continue.
For Amakhosi supporters, the five-goal display offers plenty of encouragement as the team looks ahead to the challenges of the new season.
