Mfundo Vilakazi once again showed why he is regarded as one of the exciting young talents at Kaizer Chiefs after producing a beautiful finish against Siwelele FC at Dobsonville Stadium.
With the match finely poised, Vilakazi broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a composed and technically brilliant finish. After Lebohang Maboe played a perfectly weighted pass into space, Vilakazi beat the defensive line and raced towards the Siwelele goal.
As goalkeeper Samkelo Xulu rushed off his line to close down the angle, Vilakazi kept his composure. Instead of rushing his finish, the young attacker delicately chipped the advancing goalkeeper from distance, sending the ball into the back of the net and giving Amakhosi a 1-0 lead.
It was a moment that perfectly highlighted Vilakazi’s confidence, awareness and quality in front of goal. The finish also marked his first league goal of the season.
Chiefs eventually went on to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory, with Wandile Duba and Faiz Abrahams also contributing to the scoresheet.
