Kaizer Chiefs Set for Major Squad Overhaul as Four Players Face Exit

Kaizer Chiefs appear to be entering another important phase of their squad rebuild, with the club looking to create room for new faces as Fernando da Cruz shapes the team in his image.

The Amakhosi have already made significant changes during the current transfer window, bringing in players such as Thabo Moloisane, Renaldo Leaner, Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko and Langelihle Phili.

Now, the focus could turn to players who have struggled to establish themselves as regular starters.

The reported plan is for Chiefs to part ways with four players who have not been getting consistent game time, with the technical team believed to be looking for replacements who can immediately increase competition for places. The idea is not simply to reduce the squad, but to bring in players capable of making a bigger impact.

Da Cruz has already made it clear that he wants different attacking profiles and greater tactical variety, saying Chiefs need reinforcements in several offensive positions.

Interestingly, the club has shown a willingness to recruit from fellow Betway Premiership sides. Chiefs have already completed moves involving players from Stellenbosch and Sekhukhune United, while the arrival of Phili from Stellenbosch further demonstrates their interest in proven domestic talent.

The potential “four out, four in” strategy would therefore represent a significant reshaping of the Amakhosi squad. Players who are unable to consistently challenge for starting positions could be moved on, while new arrivals would be expected to fight immediately for places.

For Chiefs supporters, the biggest question will be whether these changes can finally produce the depth and consistency required to challenge for major silverware.

With Da Cruz demanding a more unpredictable and competitive team, Naturena could be heading towards another major transfer shake-up.
