Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly intensified their efforts to strengthen their attacking options after making an approach for AmaZulu striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya. According to information emerging from sources close to the situation, Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz and the club’s management have submitted an offer to AmaZulu for the talented forward.
Ngwenya has reportedly caught the attention of the Soweto giants following an encouraging campaign in front of goal. The striker has scored seven goals across all competitions this season, performances that have helped raise his profile and attract interest from one of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be looking at Ngwenya as a potential addition to their attacking department as the club continues to build a competitive squad. His goalscoring ability, movement and physical presence could provide another option for Da Cruz as he looks to develop a stronger and more effective team.
However, negotiations may not be straightforward. According to a source close to AmaZulu, the club has placed a valuation of R15 million on Ngwenya and is reportedly unwilling to accept anything less. The message from the Durban-based club is understood to be clear: Chiefs will have to meet the R15 million asking price if they want to secure the striker’s services.
The ball is now in Kaizer Chiefs’ court as the club considers its next move. Whether they increase their offer, negotiate a different agreement or walk away from the deal remains to be seen.
For now, discussions are expected to continue, with Ngwenya’s future likely to become a major talking point among supporters. Should Chiefs succeed in completing the signing, the striker could add valuable depth and competition to the club’s attacking department.
More updates are expected as negotiations develop.
