Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi has delivered a strong message to the club’s supporters, urging them to remain patient and continue believing in head coach Fernando Da Cruz.
Mzoughi, who previously worked within the Kaizer Chiefs technical setup, spoke positively about Da Cruz and expressed confidence in the coach’s ability to bring success to the club. His comments come at a time when expectations surrounding the Glamour Boys remain extremely high, with supporters eager to see the team return to winning ways and compete seriously for major honours.
According to Mzoughi, Kaizer Chiefs fans need to trust the process and give Da Cruz the necessary support as he continues to build his team and implement his football philosophy. He believes the French coach possesses the qualities, experience and tactical understanding required to succeed at one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs.
“Kaizer Chiefs fans have to believe in Fernando Da Cruz. He is such a good coach and he will deliver a trophy for them,” Mzoughi said, highlighting his faith in the coach’s long-term potential.
The message is likely to resonate with supporters who have been calling for consistent performances and silverware. While pressure is naturally part of managing a club of Kaizer Chiefs’ stature, Mzoughi’s backing could provide encouragement to both the coach and the team.
Da Cruz will ultimately be judged by results on the pitch, but the support of former members of the technical team could prove valuable as he works to establish his vision. For Kaizer Chiefs, the objective remains clear: build a competitive squad, produce consistent performances and challenge for trophies.
Mzoughi’s message is therefore simple but important—believe in the coach, remain patient and give him the opportunity to deliver. Kaizer Chiefs supporters will now hope that Da Cruz can turn that belief into success and finally bring more silverware to Naturena.
