Kaizer Chiefs Transfer Bombshell: Fiston Mayele Link Resurfaces as Amakhosi Look to Strengthen Attack

Kaizer Chiefs’ search for attacking reinforcements has once again brought the name of Fiston Mayele into the spotlight, with the Congolese striker having previously been one of the club’s high-profile transfer targets.

Mayele had been strongly linked with Amakhosi during his time at Pyramids FC, with reports previously suggesting that Chiefs were interested in securing his services. The striker even confirmed in 2025 that former Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi had contacted him regarding a possible move.

However, the situation has since changed significantly. Mayele departed Pyramids after failing to agree on a new contract and has now joined Libyan giants Al Ahli Tripoli on a two-year contract running until June 2028.

That means any claim that Chiefs have currently reached an agreement with Pyramids FC for Mayele would need to be treated with caution.

The 32-year-old remains a proven goalscorer on the African continent and previously enjoyed a highly productive spell with Pyramids, where he played a major role in the club’s continental success.

For Chiefs, who have already strengthened their attack with the permanent signing of Khanyisa Mayo, adding another experienced forward would represent a major statement of intent ahead of the new campaign. Chiefs officially confirmed Mayo’s permanent move in July.

The Mayele situation is therefore one for Amakhosi supporters to watch closely, particularly if fresh reports emerge linking the striker with a return to South Africa.

For now, though, Mayele is an Al Ahli Tripoli player, not a Pyramids FC player, and there is no reliable confirmation that Kaizer Chiefs have secured an agreement for his transfer.
