Kaizer Chiefs release two more players as squad reshuffle continues

Kaizer Chiefs are continuing to reshape their squad ahead of the new season, with further movement involving players who were not expected to form part of the club’s immediate first-team plans. ✌️⚽

One of the names making headlines is Xolani Cossa, although his situation is a loan move rather than a permanent release. Chiefs have confirmed that the 22-year-old left centre-back will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Gomora FC, who compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The move is designed to give Cossa regular first-team football and valuable experience before he returns to Naturena at the end of the campaign. He previously spent time on loan in Botswana with Black Lions FC, where he gained important senior experience.

Meanwhile, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo remains a Kaizer Chiefs player and has not been officially released by the club. The midfielder, known as “Mshini”, is still contracted to Amakhosi and was expected to fight for his place in the squad under the new coaching setup.

With Chiefs continuing to make changes to their squad, more departures and loan moves could follow as the club looks to create space and build a competitive team for the 2026/27 campaign.

For now, however, Cossa’s departure is confirmed as a loan, while Ngcobo’s release has not been officially confirmed.
