Kaizer Chiefs defender contracts may be terminated also this week

Kaizer Chiefs defender Paseka Mako is reportedly at the centre of an important discussion with the club’s management regarding his future at Naturena, with the possibility of his contract being terminated this week.

Mako is understood to be in talks with his agent and Kaizer Chiefs as both parties consider the possibility of ending his current contract by mutual agreement. The defender is believed to be looking for a new challenge and wants to join another club where he can potentially enjoy greater opportunities and a fresh start.

Sources close to the situation indicate that Mako has experienced several challenges during his time at Kaizer Chiefs, and those difficulties have reportedly contributed to his desire to move on. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, discussions between the player’s representatives and the club are believed to be ongoing.

The situation could become particularly interesting because another PSL rival is reportedly monitoring Mako’s circumstances. Should Kaizer Chiefs agree to terminate his contract, the defender could become available as a free agent, immediately making him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their squads without paying a transfer fee.

Mako’s experience at the highest level of South African football could make him a valuable addition to another PSL side. His versatility, defensive experience and understanding of the league could attract significant interest if he officially becomes available.

For Kaizer Chiefs, however, the potential departure would represent another decision regarding the composition of the squad. The club’s management will have to determine whether allowing Mako to leave is the best solution for both the player and the team as preparations for the new season continue.

At this stage, no final agreement has been announced, and Mako remains a Kaizer Chiefs player. The coming days could therefore be crucial, with negotiations expected to determine whether his time with Amakhosi comes to an end.

If an agreement is reached, Mako could leave Naturena as a free agent and immediately begin negotiations with interested clubs. With another PSL rival reportedly ready to make a move, his future could be decided sooner rather than later.

All eyes are now on Kaizer Chiefs management and Mako’s representatives as talks continue. A contract termination could potentially be confirmed before the end of the week.
