Orlando Pirates could have a serious goal threat on their hands in Sebastian Pedersen, with head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou already impressed by the striker’s finishing ability during training.
Pedersen has reportedly settled in quickly since joining the Buccaneers, and Ouaddou says the player’s excitement has been clear from the moment he arrived. The Pirates coach believes that happiness and confidence could translate directly onto the pitch as the season progresses.
“At the moment, I think he is really happy to join Pirates. We saw a lot of happiness, a lot of excitement from him in training,” Ouaddou said.
But it was his assessment of Pedersen’s finishing that will have PSL defenders paying close attention.
“We can see definitely that he has the quality to finish, definitely. I don’t need one month to see that he’s a finisher,” the coach added.
That is a strong statement from a coach who has only needed a short period of observation to identify what Pedersen can bring to the team. Finishing is often the difference between a promising attacker and a striker who consistently changes games, and Ouaddou appears convinced that Pedersen possesses that natural instinct.
For Pirates supporters, the comments will only increase anticipation. The Buccaneers have been building an attacking identity, and adding a confident finisher could give them another dimension in the final third.
For PSL defenders, however, the message is simple: the warning has already been issued. 🔥☠️
If Pedersen can turn what he is showing in training into competitive-match performances, Pirates may have another dangerous weapon capable of punishing defensive mistakes and converting even half-chances.
The real test will come when the pressure of official matches arrives. But judging by Ouaddou’s early assessment, Pedersen is already giving the Pirates camp plenty of reasons to be excited.
PSL defenders, consider yourselves warned. Sebastian Pedersen is ready to finish.
