Mayo’s first season in the Chiefs colours was far from what supporters expected. The striker managed just two league goals while on loan from CR Belouizdad leaving many fans questioning whether he had a future at the club.
But Chiefs made a surprising decision instead of letting him go, Amakhosi completed a permanent deal for Mayo. 👀
And Baloyi believes that could be exactly what the 27 year old needs.
The Chiefs legend feels Mayo now has a fresh opportunity to rediscover the form that made him such a dangerous attacker during his time at Cape Town City.
But there is no hiding from the pressure at Naturena.
Mayo will have to fight for his place with the likes of Flávio Silva, Luke Baartman, Wandile Duba and Etiosa Ighodaro, his ability to play from the right could also give him another route into the starting XI.
