Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz given an update about Rushwin Dortley

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has provided an encouraging update on defender Rushwin Dortley, confirming that the young defender is finally ready to return to action after spending time on the sidelines.

Speaking to the media, Da Cruz explained that Dortley has made positive progress in his recovery and is now being carefully reintegrated into the team. However, the coach made it clear that the club will not rush the defender back into full competitive action.

Dortley is expected to feature in Kaizer Chiefs’ upcoming match against Siwele FC, but only for a limited period. According to Da Cruz, the plan is for the defender to play approximately 10 minutes as part of his gradual return.

The decision is aimed at allowing Dortley to regain his match fitness and confidence without putting unnecessary pressure on his body. After spending time away from competitive football, the technical team believes a controlled return is the best approach.

Da Cruz’s decision also sends a clear message that player welfare remains a priority at Kaizer Chiefs. Rather than immediately throwing Dortley into a full match, the coaching staff are taking a cautious approach and will closely monitor how he responds to the minutes he receives.

For Chiefs supporters, seeing Dortley back on the pitch will undoubtedly be a welcome sight. While his initial appearance may only last 10 minutes, it represents an important step in his comeback.

The expectation is that his playing time will gradually increase as he continues to regain his fitness. Rushwin Dortley is finally back, but Da Cruz is determined to bring him back the right way.
